
Bio
Richard Cuoco is in his seventh year as the Band Director at Wilbraham Middle School. Under his direction, the WMS Bands have received numerous honors and awards, top ratings at festivals, and they were invited to perform at the MA Music Educators 2023 All-State Conference.
Originally from Pepperell, MA, Richard earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is currently working on a Master of Music degree at the Hartt School of Music. His musical training began with piano at age 4, and then trumpet in the elementary school band. By high school, he was performing on trumpet, trombone, euphonium, and French horn, the latter of which became his primary instrument in college. After college he began studying percussion and he is now a passionate drummer.​
Richard is the Western District Chairperson of the MA Music Educators Association, and has served as Western District Treasurer for the past six years. He has been a guest conductor for the Bombyx Brass Collective and the Amherst Community Band. In addition to music and teaching, Richard has extensive experience with photography and video production and has worked for several TV studios and video production companies.
